...Sessional Peer Support Worker Vacancy
 
We are looking to appoint a Peer Support Worker (Sessional) based across the Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS area. You will be responsible for facilitating the delivery of prevention interventions, harm reduction measures and support those affected by Hepatitis C in the community. You will have experience of peer support volunteering, working with service users and professional groups and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
 
Individuals selected for interview will be notified by mail. This post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check from Disclosure Scotland.

VOLUNTEER WITH US

...as a Peer Educator

You get to draw on your own experiences and educate others about Hepatitis C. Many of our peer educators have gone on to secure employment or full time education.

You provide flexible volunteering in-house or at outreach sessions throughout the city, delivering awareness raising training and preventative support to those at risk.

We require from you personal experience of Hepatitis C, an understanding/ experience of people with addiction problems.

...as a Complementary Therapist

You get to make a positive impact on the reduction of stress levels within this particular client group.

You provide in-house therapies for an agreed period at agreed times.

We require from you certification/ qualification in any therapy that would be beneficial to clients.

...as a Fundraiser

You get to make a significant impact on the delivery of Hepatitis C support services in Scotland and help us to develop and roll out in other areas.

You provide office or home based flexible volunteering with flexible hours to suit.

We require from you research and IT skills and the ability to work on your own initiative with an understanding of funding within the charity sector.

* No previous knowledge of Hep C is required for this position.

...help in our office

You get to ensure the smooth running of our premises on our lively drop in day, help put clients at ease and gain an understanding of the issues that affect those with Hep C.

Hours are negotiable.

We require from you customer service skills, a friendly personality and a team player.
